Sustainability is the development of goods and services that meet our current needs without compromising resources for the future. Vorsen’s sustainable collection is not only a reflection of company standards regarding environmental preservation but is also a curated collection of long lasting, quality products that are sustainably made & sourced.
Choosing sustainable products when possible will help protect ecosystems & preserve natural resources for future generations.See the below information regarding our sustainable collection which features our Australian Hardwood & ECO PP ranges.
View The rangeSustainable and unique - the Vorsen Hardwood range is sourced & made locally in Sydney and is completely customisable in both sizes and finishes. Products ranging from table tops, tables and stools of varying heights - each made from recycled Australian timbers and perfect for both commercial venues or residential homes.
The timber comes from a couple of different sources: from house demolitions to timber dumped on the side of the road, but the main supply comes from old hardwood fences. For example: The fencing contractor has the option to take the fence to the rubbish tip, resulting in it going to landfill and costing them a small fortune, or, they can deliver it to our factory, resulting in both no cost of disposal to the contractor and more importantly limiting what goes into landfill.
The timber waste produced during production comes in two forms:
- Off-cuts from the fence
- Sawdust that is produced from the above mentioned machines.
To solve this problem, our factory has organised a local pig farmer who supplies empty containers, and our factory fills them with sawdust. The farmer then uses the sawdust to mix with the manure and then use it as fertiliser & the off-cuts he uses to keep his pigs warm through winter.
ECO Recycled Polypropylene (PP) is a mixture of agricultural waste (straw) & recycling polypropelene. By melting, blending and additive dosing via a special process the result is Vorsen’s ECO PP chairs & stools - the timber frames are also FSC approved sustainably sourced beechwood.
All timber used are Australian hardwoods. They range from brush box, ironbark, blackbutt, and spotted gum (species vary). We refer to them as Redbox and yellow box, which they are also known as.
Despite having a standard range of colours we are able to accomodate customised colours - however we are unable to guarantee an exact match.
Simply provide photographs of your existing timber to our sales team (prior to checkout) who will be able to assist with this.

The ECO PP chair & barstools are produced overseas by our most trusted long-term factory. Vorsen then imports the goods and stores them at our Glendenning NSW warehouse.

However, if you require bulk commercial quantities please contact our sales team (sales@vorsen.com.au) to see if custom colours will be applicable for your order.
